My first love in painting as a young artist was watercolors.  You can use them as studies or as strong finished paintings.  So many times I feel artists think they are being delicate with watercolors but instead they are being tentative.  I try to use the medium to say what I want in the painting.  It is very easy to lose sight this and let the medium dictate what I am trying to say.
